Here is a letter from Brother Moeller:

Dear Supporting Friends,

AWANAS
Three weeks ago we began the only AWANA club in South Africa to target black South African children. There was great excitement in the air as nearly 40 kids attended our first club meeting. We hold the club right after our Sunday service.
The first week we had to cut our service short due to an unexpected protest in the community over housing. It spilled over into the community hall where we meet and we had to make a quick exit out the side doors!
We are very excited about the prospects of what this ministry can do to help us reach children and their parents with the gospel. We are also anticipating that AWANA will help us to build kids with strong characters to withstand the great and evil temptations that they face in these days.
Monthly Prayer Meetings
Drawing from an example that began some 180 years ago, I became burdened to begin a monthly prayer service in our church. These prayer meetings were held all over America and Great Britain on the first Monday of every month for many years. Sadly, the activity has all but vanished away.
The subject of the prayer meetings was revival and the evangelization of the heathen. We meet for the same reasons.

We have now held 4 of these monthly prayer meetings and
what a joy they have been to attend.
These prayer times have been used in a great way already. The people are attending in real good numbers and heartfelt prayers are being made to God for revival in South Africa.
A Tragic Funeral
I was asked to perform the funeral of a 35-year-old woman whose 3 young children and brother attend our church. Most likely she died of an AIDS related illness.
The majority of this family is unsaved and the funeral was an emotionally wrenching experience. The grief and agony of the children and the pain displayed on the countenance of the mother of the deceased, created a great ache in my soul.
As we walked down the narrow, winding path to the place where
the body was to be buried, I thought of the words of Jesus, “Suffer the little children to come unto me...” I shared those verses at the grave and told this family that in times like this you need a God like Jesus Christ who desires the little children to come to Him and find help. I related that He alone could provide what they needed at this and all times. We hope they take the words to heart.
As I stood there beside the grave, dust flying up in my eyes from the work of the men filling
in the hole, I thought of the hopelessness these children have of ever seeing their mommy again. I then took a look down into an adjoining valley and there stood a huge complex of white buildings with blue trim that are the “trademarks” of one of the largest cults in South Africa, “The St. John’s Church”.
Although this family was not members of that particular church, they had been a part of another cultic church with very similar beliefs. They had found no hope or assurance about the life after death. They have no comfort from the pain and grief they are feeling. They feel no grace or strength as they now walk through the valley of the shadow of death.
Aren’t you glad Christian friend that we have One whom we can hold onto during these circumstances common to us all? Thanks for giving us the opportunity to share Him with those who are truly “having NO HOPE, and without GOD in the world.” (Eph. 2:12)
THANKS FOR YOUR FAITHFUL GIFTS
AND PRAYERS THIS MONTH!
